The Grooming Associate works directly under the supervision of the Salon Supervisor. He/she must perform work to the best of his/her ability. Responsibilities include trimming animals (according to the directions set out on client cards or according to the instructions of superiors), along with other customary grooming tasks normally performed by members of the trade (approximately nine dogs per day). Breed-standard clipping knowledge is preferred with three to five years hand scissor experience. The Grooming Associate is responsible for the cleaning of his/her station, maintaining all equipment used, and disinfecting tabletops between pets. In emergency situations, he/she will groom additional animals prior to leaving work. When in contact with a customer, he/she is courteous, smiles, and skillfully handles his/her pet guest.
